5.Common Questions

Which location should I choose?

If speed is your main concern, start with the Fastest filter. You can also choose a particular location when you want your traffic to exit there.

Why is my connection slower than usual?

Network congestion can affect it. Try another location and compare how the connection feels. Network Insights can help you check latency and upload and download activity.

Which mode should I start with?

Easy Mode is a simple starting point if you want automatic fast-server selection. Security is the recommended option if you want the additional protections listed above.

Why do some websites stop working in Tin Foil Hat?

Its stronger filtering can block things a site relies on. If a site stops working, try a less restrictive mode and check whether filtering is the cause.

Do I need Pro for Tin Foil Hat?

Yes. Tin Foil Hat requires Pro access.

Where do I find the Fastest filter?

Go to Network → Location → the filter icon next to the location search bar → Search by: Fastest. Choose one of the top locations.

What does location actually do?

The location determines where your network traffic is routed through.
